DAYCARE

The first step is to register and create an account through our booking system, Collar. After that, you can schedule an induction session at a time that works for you. Once you attend this session, and we have had the chance to meet both you and your dog, you can book weekly sessions if the induction is successful. Dog Day Care is a highly regulated industry, licensed by local authorities, similar to children’s nurseries. It is essential that all dogs attending day care are registered through our booking system and that their vaccinations are current.

Yes, we will maintain records of your dog’s vaccinations on your online portal. To comply with licensing requirements for our daycare, it is essential that all dogs attending are fully vaccinated.
We have a dedicated ‘induction page’ that will provide you with all the details regarding an induction and how they work.

We have a policy that requires your dog to attend at least one session each week. This is something we are truly passionate about, and it plays a crucial role in the success of The Dog Club.

This requirement is one of the reasons why, when you visit and see the dogs here, you’ll notice a wonderfully relaxed and happy atmosphere. Sending your dog for weekly visits is crucial for maintaining the balance here, for your dog and also the other dogs they play with. Regular attendance allows dogs to build a solid routine, form friendships, and strengthen their bonds with our team. Consistency is essential for dogs to thrive, while sporadic visits can lead to confusion and stress for both your dog and our regular attendees. Therefore, we kindly ask our members to commit to weekly sessions.

Our pick-up and drop-off times are strict because maintaining a routine and structure is crucial for the dogs. The dogs take part to a carefully planned schedule of activities throughout the day, engaging as a pack throughout all of this – to play, rest, and unwind. Any disruptions to this routine can lead to upset among the dogs, which is why we are firm with these times. However, if you face an unexpected situation, please reach out to our team, and we will make every effort to accommodate your needs on a one-time basis.

As a key element of our licensing safety protocol during an emergency, we have crates readily available to establish confinement areas. Crates can also be beneficial for dogs that struggle to relax or have suffered a sprain or injury. They are only used as a supportive tool when necessary, but not intended for holding dogs for extended periods. We do also have rest pods for puppies that have eaten lunch – These are very important as they need. To rest after meals to avoid bloat.

Our team is extensively trained in canine first aid to handle any emergencies that may arise. If we notice any issues, we will reach out to you right away; however, if we cannot reach you, we will take your dog to our nearby veterinarian for examination. Just like children playing in a playground, minor bumps and strains can occur in a free-roaming environment, but rest assured, we are well-prepared to manage these situations if necessary. We are proud to have two members on our full-time team who are fully qualified veterinary physiotherapists.
Yes, your dog will be under constant supervision by our team of experienced carers and will NEVER be left unattended.

We offer a variety of cozy spaces to stay dry and warm. Among these are the log cabins, equipped with heaters and TVs, located in the activity fields. Additionally, in the barnyards, you’ll find The Dog Club Clubhouse—an expansive, charming old barn filled with comfortable Chesterfield sofas and relaxing chairs perfect for a nap, electric fires and underfloor heating for added comfort.

Yes, we provide dogs with the freedom to rest as much as they desire, with access to relaxation areas and quiet zones throughout the day. While we strive to maintain a consistent schedule, it typically begins with a warm up, followed by a play session and then a rest break along with enrichment activities. This routine ensures that the group has ample opportunities for exercise and rest during the day. Rest periods are tailored to each dog’s age, ability, and the frequency of their sessions over the week.

We begin our day early, allowing the dogs to ease into their routine with a gentle warm-up, helping them settle in comfortably. It’s essential for all dogs to stretch and warm up properly before playtime. We organise dogs into play groups based on their age and play style before starting the morning activities. Our team closely monitors the dogs, ensuring that everyone is having a great time. We frequently rotate the groups through various activity areas according to their energy levels, guiding each group through the morning with diverse activities.

As late morning approaches, the dogs enjoy a supervised rest break. The afternoon follows a similar pattern to the morning, starting with a gradual warm-up through group walking, followed by play and enrichment activities. Another rest break in the late afternoon helps prepare all the dogs for hometime.

Throughout the day, your dog will receive snacks (as long as dietary requirements allow) to reward positive behavior. However, if a dog has a specific medical diet or is under 12 months old (needing smaller, more frequent meals), we are happy to accommodate their feeding during their visit. We do not feed dogs older than this for several reasons. Primarily, managing meals for a large number of dogs can complicate logistics, and food can often trigger unwanted behaviors, which we strive to avoid in a relaxed and happy environment. Therefore, to ensure the well-being of all dogs, we refrain from mealtimes during the day, unless in exceptional circumstances. At the end of the day, every dog will go home with a bedtime biscuit to enjoy after their busy day.
When dogs play outside, they can get a bit messy! We will always clean dogs down as much as we can prior to leaving, you can also provide your own towel for a bit of extra rubbing down if you like.

Alternatively, should you request that they are completely clean please book a wash and flu dry. Prices for this service start at £15 and should be booked in advance.

HOMEBOARDING

Our home boarding service is offered solely to our weekly daycare dogs. These pets become part of our family during evenings and weekends, making it essential for them to be familiar with us. The comfort of our environment plays a crucial role in their well-being when they are away from home. To ensure that every dog in our care remains happy and stress-free, we only provide boarding for our regular members.

Our home boarding service offers a cosy, family-oriented experience, providing 24-hour care within our home. Dogs are embraced as family members and enjoy all the advantages of The Dog Club during off-hours. Imagine a sleepover with their best friends in a familiar setting after a fun-filled day of play – it’s every dog’s dream!

We will consult with you in advance to determine the most suitable sleeping arrangements for your dog, as each one is unique. Our goal is to ensure they feel as comfortable and at home as possible.

We recommend that all dogs participate in a trial overnight stay. This allows us to help them acclimate and observe how they adapt to being away from home. You will be available if they feel overly anxious; however, most of the time, they settle in quite well. Before your dog stays with us, we will send you a series of pre-stay questions. These questions cover essential details about your dog’s home routine to help us replicate it as closely as possible. We’ll also inquire about your dog’s behaviors and how they settle down in the evening.

We will then create an evening routine that mirrors their family home life, whether that involves using a crate or allowing them to sleep in their own bed. Unfortunately, we cannot accommodate dogs with separation anxiety, as this behavior is likely to intensify when away from home. No matter how much they enjoy daycare, our own dogs and any other guests need rest at night, and this isn’t feasible if one of the visiting dogs is stressed or anxious.

Customer review:

As a natural worrier, I was always concerned about holidays and dog cover. Not wanting to put our dogs in kennels limited our options still further ….. until we met Jess. Jess, Steve and the team offer an exceptional service. Our dogs love their “holidays” and “away days” with them and we have total peace of mind, knowing they are in safe and capable hands. Their passion for what they do shines through. All aspects of the dogs needs are catered for. I cannot recommend highly enough and would not leave our dogs with anyone else.
