Mel
Mel initially joined our team to assist with grooming and primarily to work in the daycare. Fast forward a year, and her grooming skills have become exceptional and highly sought after, leading her to work full-time in the grooming salon! With her extensive experience in handling dogs, she excels in working with those that have had negative grooming experiences. It's truly amazing to witness her transform their lives as she helps them overcome their fears. Mel is a valued and cherished member of our team.

My favourite part of The Dog Club is working with all the “problem” dogs in the groomers. I’ve had great success with many dogs here that have been banned from elsewhere due to behaviour. I find it so rewarding and I love building a relationship with the dogs. I also get to build such lovely relationships with all the customers. You’ll often find me chatting away for ages at pick up and drop offs.
Favourite dog breeds and why
My favourite dog breed is Cavalier King Charles spaniels as my childhood dog was one called Blue! He was the sweetest dog I’ve ever met. My great grandma also bred these for many years and showed them at crufts. Helping her prepare them for crufts is where I fell in love with dog grooming.
Tell us about your own dogs
I would love to have another Cavalier but I’ve also always wanted a scruffy little lurcher! I love their personalities and think they are great fun.
